Who is ready to retire from blockbuster filmmaking?  Why it’s George Lucas. he is ready to retire,  Though he previously threatened retirement before launching into the Star Wars prequels, the director’s 20-year passion project Red Tails is finally hitting theaters this month, and with that Lucas says  “I’m retiring. I’m moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff.” Read the full story here

After years of trying to get this movie made, script after script was being sent to Bill Murray to see if he’d finally approve of a script for Ghostbusters III. But now as the National Enquirer has discovered, Murray has knocked it down for the count. He mailed back a shredded copy of the script with the note “No one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts!”

This is just sad as hell, and Aykroyd and Ramis are pretty pissed about it. So they’re just gonna move along without Murray.

Han Solo himself Harrison Ford has been officially confirmed for a role in Ender’s Game.  He’ll be playing Colonel Hyrum Graff according to Variety.  Ford is filling the role that was once offered to Viggo Motensen.  Graff will be the one to train young Ender, and we’ll just have to wait to see if his female students write anything on their eyes.  Ender’s Game opens March 15, 2013.

Here's hoping they don't recast Ender as Shia Labeouf

Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty in the new movie series, let slip during the premier of his new film Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol, that there won’t be any more cameos from the Original series cast.  We say Leonard Nimoy reprise his role of Spock in the first film, but it seems that will be the end of them.  A few of them would have been impossible anyhow, seeing as DeForrest Kelly (The original Bones) has passed.  So has Simon Pegg’s predecessor James Doohan.  Pegg said this at the idea of Doohan’s cameo, “That would involve time travel. And if the real Scotty showed up, that would be something.”

Sorry Shatner, there's only room for one Kirk now.

New Zombie Romance Film……wait, what?

Okay Twilight fans, you catch a lot of flak for your personal literary tastes.  I admit the only way I’d wear a team Edward shirt is if it had Edward James Olmos on it, but your preferences don’t really impact me unless you’re talking my ear off about your particularly disturbing fan fiction.  Which brings me to my next point, with all of the necrophilia vs. bestiality jokes you guys were getting I cannot imagine what Hollywood executive thought this was a good idea….

Here’s a look at the Zombie romance film Warm bodies.  Yes, you read that correctly, Zombie….Romance….

I repeat, what Hollywood executive thought this was a good idea?  Just look at the promo pic below.

There’s no denying that it’s a blatant rip off of Twilight trying to cash in on the “Supernatural teen romance” genre.  Not only does this genre exist, but you can walk into your local bookstore and ask for the “Supernatural Teen Romance” section and the employees won’t even bat an eye at it.  If you’re wondering how this movie could get away with copying the imagery of Twilight without getting a lawsuit on their hands, the answer is simple:  Summit Entertainment, the studio behind Twilight, are behind this too.

I shudder to think at how many other supernatural creatures are going to be shoved into this mold before people just cry “Enough!”  You’ve taken our vampires and our werewolves, and now our zombies.  What’s next?

Meagan Crow was a teenage girl in a new town.  Feeling like she just didn’t belong, her only escape was swimming in a local lagoon.  One night however, she nearly drowned when her legs got tangled up in seaweed.  She was saved by a mysterious young boy, and from this one moment an unlikely romance blossomed.  This summer, the must see Supernatural Teen Romance film is….The Romance from the Black Lagoon.
